We built a brace of Surly Disc Truckers, complete with ever-reliable 9-speed transmissions, cable disc brakes and steel racks, as well as Brooks leather saddles, Ortlieb luggage and Ergon grips.British Cycling Fundamentals of Mountain Bike Leadership The frame is a Canyon Ultimate AL – the matt black on matt black colour scheme was Kevin’s idea, but I managed to talk him in to the anodised purple Hope RS hubs… The wheels are custom, with H+Son Archetype rims.īest mates Tina and Marta came to us for a matching pair of world-beating custom touring bikes, specced for their upcoming tour of Patagonia. Kevin’s a die-hard road rider, raised on the golden era Tours de France of the ’80s and ’90s, so the groupset had to be Campagnolo. He’s been dreaming of this bike for as long as I’ve known him, and he finally gave the go-ahead to build it. Kevin is a long-standing customer, I’ve been servicing his venerable Bianchi for more than ten years now. The ‘billiard-cue’ paint job is just too cool! A well-sorted ’60s Moulton rides nearly as well as a brand new one, and this fully refurbished bike cost its new owner about a third of what a brand new one would set you back! It has a few new parts (chain, cables, bar tape and tyres) but most of its components are original. BIKE WORKSHOP BRISTOL FULLWe found him this 1965 Deluxe and gave it a full mechanical restoration. This bike’s owner is from Bradford-on-Avon, where Moulton bicycles have been built since the early ’60s – he felt that he should have one of his own. ![]() The bike features Nitto bars, Brooks saddle and bar tape, and some extremely radical vintage TA Specialites track cranks. This Cinelli single-speed was a custom job for Ben, a long-time customer – he wanted to treat himself to his dream bike, and here it is! It’s pictured here with a Shimano coaster-brake hub, but I built another rear wheel with a track hub – Ben rides the bike with the coaster brake in the city, and fits the fixed-gear wheel for longer blasts in the country. I think the Raleigh Twenty (also known as the Shopper) is one of the coolest bikes around, and I’m trying to talk the rest of the world round to my way of thinking… We also fitted new grips, cables, tyres and tubes and a new chain. We stripped and rebuilt the bike, including its Sturmey Archer three-speed hub gear. ![]() ![]() And a bike thief wouldn’t be seen dead on it! It’s pretty original, but we rebuilt the wheels with modern alloy rims, which give way better braking than the original steel ones. We built this Raleigh Twenty for a student – it’s a perfect city bike: sturdy, reliable, comfortable, with nippy handling. The Brooklyn waterfront is a washout, according to roiled residents of a new residential mega project there. The shortage of judges in NY’s Housing Court is causing massive pain for both tenants and landlordsĭeveloper files plan to demolish Papaya King flagship restaurant Students creeped out by landlord’s ‘big brother’ move Since 432 Park Avenue was erected in Manhattan half a decade ago, members of the ultrawealthy have shelled out millions of dollars - in one case, as much as $88 million - to get their own luxury condos in one of the tallest buildings on “Billionaire’s Row.” But what was once believed to be a literal pinnacle of high living has turned out to be the most wretched of hellholes: The $3.1 billion building is falling apart, largely due to its unreasonable height and design flaws.Times Square Applebee’s aims to move after judge rules it owes landlord $7M And its billionaire residents - who are butting heads not only with developers but with one another - are dismayed. This rich source of Schadenfreude comes to us from the New York Times, which spoke with the building’s engineers and residents and obtained various documents giving us a glimpse into their 1,400-foot-tall stomping grounds. Among the building’s biggest issues is its plumbing, which has caused frequent flooding and extensive water damage. In November 2018, 432 Park suffered major back-to-back leaks - one of which propelled water into elevator shafts, shutting them down for weeks. ![]() The plumbing issues even prompted one potential resident to back out of a $46.25 million deal after the building experienced a “catastrophic water flood.”Īnd then there are the elevators themselves. ![]() Residents say they suffer frequent malfunctions in one particularly horrifying incident in October 2019, “a high-wind condition” caused one person to be “entrapped” in an elevator for nearly an hour and a half, per a management email. Apparently, in a building this tall, wind-related elevator issues are not uncommon neither is unsettling noise, of which residents also complain. According to notes from an owners’ meeting, eerie creaking and groaning noises often resonate in the apartments, and somewhere in the building exists a garbage chute “that sounds like a bomb” when trash is thrown into it. What’s more, residents are now required to spend $15,000 in annual fees for the building’s private restaurant, which is run by a Michelin-starred chef, though when 432 Park opened, they were told this cost would be merely $1,200. And get this: Breakfast is no longer on the house. The mood in the building could be described as tense. While one of the developers maintains that 432 Park “is a successfully designed, constructed and virtually sold-out project” - or so the firm told the Times in a statement - residents charge that the building is in shambles and that they shouldn’t be forced to cover its myriad problems through insurance and common-charge hikes. This isn’t a neat residents-vs.-developers narrative, though, as the former are anything but a unified front. According to Sarina Abramovich, who bought a $17 million apartment in 2016 so she and her husband could have a second home close to their children, “Everybody hates each other here. The Down Side to Life in a Supertall Tower: Leaks, Creaks, Breaks432 Park, one of the wealthiest addresses in the world, faces some significant design problems, and other luxury high-rises may share its fate. The nearly 1,400-foot tower at 432 Park Avenue, briefly the tallest residential building in the world, was the pinnacle of New York’s luxury condo boom half a decade ago, fueled largely by foreign buyers seeking discretion and big returns. Six years later, residents of the exclusive tower are now at odds with the developers, and each other, making clear that even multimillion-dollar price tags do not guarantee problem-free living. The claims include: millions of dollars of water damage from plumbing and mechanical issues frequent elevator malfunctions and walls that creak like the galley of a ship - all of which may be connected to the building’s main selling point: its immense height, according to homeowners, engineers and documents obtained by The New York Times. ![]() ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() How many times when the version number of unRaid (eg: 6b10 to b11 to b12, 13, 14, 15, etc) has changed has this necessitated a change to the plugin? Docker does not have this problem. The way that I look at it is that because plugins run directly on unRaid, whenever changes happen to unRaid, those changes directly affect the running of plugins. Plugins are not bad for enhancing the webgui / core functionality but if a 3rd party software package is needed, docker is a better solution. So on balance, I think the preference should be towards dockers unless you intend to affect the unRAID OS. That can have some unintended consequences. There is a dark, lonely side to their lives, so I do feel sorry for them - clearly, money and fame don’t buy happiness and peace of mind.Ī lot of these “stars” are using this social media as a gateway into becoming something else, such as a musician, model, or actor/actress, so it’s interesting to see how their careers have developed and are developing. A big concern that comes forward is the fear of work loss during quarantine and fans turning on them. I really felt for Chase Hudson when she said, “If you get canceled for something that’s what you’re known for, for the rest of your life,” – social media really is the life and death of someone’s career currently and you can see the pressure they can put on themselves to make their followers happy. There is a lot of fun in the house, but there are some serious, somber and sad parts. However, good for the people who use it to their advantage and make it “big”. You’ll find it annoying, pointless, and justifying some people’s existence and excuse to be seen and trying to be “famous”.įor me, it is a sad age for artists where social media has so much power and influence over careers. HYPE HOUSE NETFLIX SHOW SERIESAlthough if you’re not interested in social media or the world of influencers, this is not the series for you. Which is very eye-opening and interesting… Something for you to watch if you want to understand the world of social media Influencing. Through confessions and fly on the wall style filming, this series talks about the pressures of online, social-media fame. The money the influencers make on brand deals as the Hype House crew is used to pay for the rent and other household expenses, showing that their lives really do depend on their viewers/fans. Set in a mansion in California, they are really living the high life, even if they don’t think it at times. Think a lot of drama, high-school drama, pointless drama, and you’ve got this series. So, this house is full of social media stars, in their 20’s, talking about their lives and wanting to be as famous and renowned as A-list celebrities. Unfortunately, people with some celebrity background bring more viewers. Mindless entertainment, but entertainment, nonetheless. I really enjoyed these shows, especially Big Brother, when the people were not famous, and you had ordinary people chatting nonsense and getting drunk on TV. ![]() This may remind you of the old MTV series The Real World, and the Channel 4 series Big Brother, who brought strangers together in one house and taped them 24/7. thank u netflix and hype house for this opportunity.y'all are definitely going to regret this. This series follows some of the internet’s most famous stars, including Kouvr Annon, Vinnie Hacker, Alex Warren, Chase Hudson (Lil Huddy), Larray Merritt, Nikita Dragun, and more. "There will be drama, tears, and hopefully a cancellation or two. "I cannot wait to show u guys behind the wig, layers of makeup, and hormones.but ultimately my real friendships!" she wrote. In an Instagram post, Dragun explains that while she's an "unofficial" member of Hype House, she considers them her family, "most of them that is." The show didn't have a home then, but now Netflix has scooped it up.Īs Nikita says at the end of the announcement video, "Oh my god, sorry Hulu. This reality series has been in development since at least August 2020, when Wheelhouse Entertainment partnered with Hype House on an overall deal. You can watch them announce the show in a video posted to-where else?-TikTok. The show will star Kouvr Annon, Nikita Dragun, Sienna Mae Gomez, Chase Hudson, Larri Merritt, Thomas Petrou, Alex Warren and Jack Wright. But either way, the show will star a group of social media stars that will according to Netflix, "reveal a side of themselves (and their relationships) that we rarely see!" Or maybe Hype House is the name of the actual house they all create content in? Hard to tell, honestly. ![]() Hype House is, of course, a squad of TikTok creators who have millions of followers and a similar amount of money. Anyway, we're talking about TikTok, because Hype House is getting a Netflix reality show. You will go, "Who?" Then, as you learn more about what's happening here, you'll just get sad. Depending on the state of your FYP, this is either great news or news that will make you go, "Ugh."Īnd if you don't know what an FYP is, this is news you can just skip. ![]() ![]() ![]() Feel Free to share the link to this page with family and friends so they can download their own copy.
